How to Make a Terrarium

Wash the container before you start DIY. Washing it remove the residue from inside which may affect the health of plants.

Glass containers will not have a hole for water to drain away, so for that, create a layer using pebbles. Adding a layer of a pebble keeps water away from plant roots.

Next, add activated charcoal on top of the pebbles. These help in drainage and odor control in container.

Now add potting soil mix. You have to add enough soil for your plant’s roots. Many home and garden store sell packed soil that is specially made for this. You can also use regular soil but make sure the soil is high in organic matter.

Start planting your plants. After planting, complete the look with decorative pebbles. Don’t overcrowd and plants not touch the sidewall.

Your terrarium is ready.
